Science fair projects in the past years have been required for all fourth grade students. During our Science block, students will be taught the Scientific Process and how to design a science fair board. An experiment will be conducted in the classroom and information will be gathered. Students will use the data recorded to create a mock science board in the classroom. This classroom model will be helpful when the students must carry out their own experiment at home for the Science Fair.
PLEASE NOTE THAT SCIENCE FAIR WILL BE COMING UP ON . SCIENCE BOARD PROJECTS ARE DUE IN THE CLASSROOM ON JANUARY 23. FOR STUDENT PRESENTATIONS...PROJECTS WILL GO ON DISPLAY IN THE CAFETERIA/GYM ON JANUARY 24. STUDENTS WHO ARE CONSIDERING TO HAVE THEIR PROJECTS JUDGED FOR POSSIBLE ADVANCEMENT TO THE REGIONAL SF WILL TAKE PLACE IN THE EVENING OF TBA BY JUDGES SELECTED BY THE OHE SCIENCE FAIR COMMITTEE. AUSTIN ENERGY REGIONAL SCIENCE FAIR IS TBA AT THE PALMER EVENTS CENTER FOR THOSE ELEMENTARY STUDENTS WHOSE PROJECTS WERE CHOSEN TO ADVANCE.......PLEASE REFER TO THE FOLLOWING WEBSITE FOR MORE INFORMATION: www.sciencefest.austinenergy.com
ALL SCIENCE FAIR PROJECTS MUST BE TURNED IN ON TIME AS NOTED ABOVE. STUDENTS SHOULD BE READY TO PRESENT THE INFORMATION FROM THEIR EXPERIMENT TO THE CLASS WITHOUT HAVING TO READ THE DATA THAT IS ON THEIR BOARD. THEY MAY REFER TO THE DATA TO SHOW EXAMPLES FROM THEIR WORK SUCH AS TABLES, CHARTS, GRAPHS, PHOTO'S OR ILLUSTRATIONS, HOWEVER, THEY SHOULD BE PREPARED TO SPEAK ABOUT THE ENTIRE PROCESS WITHOUT READING THE BOARD OR A REPORT.
