It is hard to believe that November is already upon us and Thanksgiving is right around the corner! Time really flies during our busy school year.
Here is what's up in November
REMEMBER THAT SCIENCE FAIR, WHICH HAS TRADITIONALLY BEEN SCHEDULED IN NOVEMBER, IS NOW SCHEDULED TO BE HELD IN JANUARY. SCIENCE FAIR BOARDS AND LABELS WILL ALSO BE ON SELL BY A PTA OFFICER DURING THIS EVENT.
A WORD ABOUT AFTER SCHOOL TUTORING:
For those students who qualify, for after school tutoring for Reading and/or Math, tutoring will begin on ___tba___,and will continue every Tuesday until__tba___. The exact dates are as follows:_______tba_____________.
OUR WORLD OUR SCHOOL CELEBRATION WILL BE ON THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 3RD.
1. PLEASE NOTE: THIS EVENT WILL MOST LIKELY OCCUR THIS SCHOOL YEAR AS THIS ONLY TAKES PLACE IN A PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION YEAR:
On (_tba_) students at OHE will participate in a district wide mock election. Students will vote for their choice for the Presidency. The winner of this AISD election will be announced on (__tba__).
2. Fun Field Day will be held on Friday, November 11th from ___tba__ for all ___tba__ graders. All activities will be held on the playground field outdoors. Please note that parent help with the activities is greatly appreciated by our P.E. teachers.
3. Thanksgiving break is scheduled for the Week of November 21-25th. This year, student's will have the whole week off from school to celebrate Thanksgiving.
As we move through the days in this nine weeks, we will continue our learning with focus on the following:
Reading: TBA

Social Studies:
The students will be learning the causes and effects of early European exploration and the colonization of Texas and North America. The early Native American tribal groups of Texas will be discussed....students will be making flip books of the four regions of Texas and the tribes that inhabited each region.
